*Glimepiride 1mg + Metformin 500mg + Voglibose 0.2mg Tablet – Uses*
This is a triple-combination oral antidiabetic tablet used for *Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus*, usually when 1 or 2 drugs alone aren't controlling blood sugar.
*What each drug does:*1. *Glimepiride 1mg*: Sulfonylurea. Stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, mainly lowers fasting blood sugar.  2. *Metformin 500mg*: Biguanide. Reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Helps with post-meal and fasting sugar.  3. *Voglibose 0.2mg*: Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. Slows carbohydrate breakdown in the intestine, reducing post-meal blood sugar spikes.
*Main use:*  Control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, especially when diet, exercise, and dual therapy aren't enough. The combo targets fasting, post-meal, and overall glucose through 3 different mechanisms.
*Key points:*  - *Timing*: Take just before meals because voglibose needs to be in the gut when you eat carbs. Usually once or twice daily with breakfast and/or dinner as prescribed.  - *Don't use for type 1 diabetes* or diabetic ketoacidosis.  - *Common side effects*: Hypoglycemia due to glimepiride, stomach upset/gas/diarrhea from metformin and voglibose.  - *Hypoglycemia risk*: Higher than metformin alone. Carry sugar/glucose. Alcohol increases this risk.  - *Take with food* to reduce stomach side effects.  
This is prescription-only. Dose is adjusted based on blood sugar and HbA1c. Regular kidney function and blood sugar monitoring are needed.
